48 Million Dollar Partnership
There is a partnership between the high school and Oberlin College. Students who live within the district and attend Oberlin High School for their entire high school career may attend Oberlin College tuition-free, if accepted. What it amounts to is close to 48 million dollars.
This is a good story. However, is the University losing money because of this great gesture? I love the idea, but I definitely don't see it going down like this anywhere in the state of North Carolina ... NAW. If a High School asked a NC or even a SC school to do something like this, they would reply with, "What did Chuck Berry say each night before he counted down on the stage 3-2-1? Pay me my money!!!"
Oberlin can afford it they're a private school so it's not like it's coming out of the states pocket.
