Brittney Griner, the dunking freshman sensation for Baylor (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP), has been suspended for at least one game after throwing a punch that broke an opposing player's nose in a Big 12 game.She's the most talked about female basketball player in a long time. She can dunk off a drop step. Her buzz started in high school. ESPN did a story on her earlier in the college basketball season. She was almost averaging a double double. But now, she's in the news for the wrong reason. All over a stupid foul (SMH)!
I agree with many of the sports writers in that there is no place in sports for such behavior. That punch was vicious though.
