"NO DUNKING ALLOWED"

The all star weekend's Saturday activities is comparable to a rec center gym growing up where if somebody dunked the basketball, they kicked you out of the gym. All four contestants should have been kicked out of the arena. Gerald Wallace should cut his hair off after that dunk contest perfomance (did you see Dwight Howard's face after the Wallace dunk). Shannon Brown was just as bad. Demar DeRozen showed a glimpse but then blew it and the only reason Nate Robinson won is because he's shorter than everybody else and when he dunks, his effort alone makes his dunks look like something.

By far the worse dunk contest ever. I'm starting a petition now for the following contests/events to be considered for All-Star Weekend next year. Feel free to comment on what you would like to see.

* A dunk contest between former or current NBA players over 40 years of age...one, at least it would be entertaining, and two, it can't be any worse then what we just saw. I can see Charles Barkley now trying to dunk a basketball (HAHA!)

* A groupie race! Set up the stations like they have at Carolina games when the little kid has to put on the big uniform, then dribble down the court and make a lay-up. Only, in addition to putting on an oversized uniform, they must put it on over the out fit they planned to wear out to the club that night. WINNER gets free tickets to the saturday night after party. (don't judge me, yall know it's people out there who would enter this contest).

* Dunk contest between non-basketball professional players or maybe even the And-1 mixtape people (are they still around).  As much as people hate him, T. Owens has some hops!

* Skip Saturday night and go straight to the All-Star Game, the dunks were way more exciting...see below

I'm saying...something is better than nothing!

  3. Why Gerald Wallace constantly look like he's been slapped by his momma and now he has to sit in the corner?

  4. No more dunk contests, unless the real "dunkers" enter - i.e. Lebron, Vince, etc... Money has messed up the excitement of All-Star weekend. Stars can't afford to get hurt because they lose endorsements, etc... so they decide to pass on any festivities besides the game itself. Nor can they afford to lose to Nate Robinson - imagine if Lebron James or Vince Carter lost a dunk contest to Nate Robinson or Gerald Wallace. That scenario wouldn't look good for Lebron or Vince.

Back in the day, that competitive edge is what kept Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Dr. J., etc... in the dunk contest. And the 3-point contest is a joke too! Remember Larry Bird coming out in his warm-up busting everybody's *&^! It's just not the same - All-Star weekend that is.
