"Flying High"

In a room of four people, there was only one person overly excited to hear about Michael Vick’s signing (shout out to Philly’s favorite daughter). Key word here is “overly.”

There is no doubt in my mind that Vick deserves a second chance. No need to blog about that, we’ve done that already. My concern is why the Eagles. I could name at least 3 other teams where Vick would have been a better fit.

Here are a few of my thoughts:

* Donovan McNabb tomorrow and in the coming weeks will express how happy he is that Vick's playing for the Eagles.
* McNabb will have a crappy couple of games, then benched, Vick will replace him
* Vick will play and a QB controversy will arise
* For an answer to what happens next…ask Terrell Owens!

As much as I hate the Carolina Panthers, I thought Vick would have been a better fit. There were also talks of him joining the Ravens, which also could have worked out with an inconstent Joe Flacco. The Eagles drafted a quarterback out of Houston two years ago. And their 3rd string is also a former starting quarterback. Me...---> SMH!

Maybe it’s not for me or anyone else to figure out. I just hope he doesn’t “overly” disappoint the Philly faithful. Best of luck young man!

  1. Mike Vick will be starting before the season is over. The Eagles receivers are not that good, so Vick's ability to run the football will create opportunities for those "average" receivers to make more plays.

I'm sorry McNabb, but your time in Philly may be over soon!

Oh, and the backlash from PETA won't matter in Philly, because Philly fans are much scarier than PETA. But, if Vick doesn't perform well, the Philly fans will join forces with PETA and that won't be good for Mike!

So, Mike, don't screw this up!

  2. Philly is a perfect place for him the dirtiest city in america. The fans hate all the players anyway. Vick can run but he cant hide, he better watch out so he doesnt his back broke this time instead of a leg. And D-Nabb might be a bitch ass n...a but he still is a way better passer than Vick.

  3. This is the perfect opportunity for Vick if he still has talent. McNabb isn't going to play 16 games....come on...let's be honest. So Vick will start maybe 2-3 games and if he shows off, next season he is getting traded. The Eagles are not going to get rid of McNabb, they would have done that a long time ago. So the Eagles get two Pro Bowl QBs, Vick gets to practice and get his skill back without having the pressure of being the starting QB, and Donovan still keeps his job.

Next year - Vick will be on an NFC team. Candidates - Vikings, Panthers, and Seahawks

  4. Well, I must agree with whomever this "overly" excited person was. They must be ravishingly beautiful & highly intelligent in order to see how right Vick signing with Philly is! I also hear your point about going to the Panthers BUT the South is way too racist & hateful to support his comeback. Philly, on the other hand is over 60% African American & the fans will support a terrorist from the middle east if they think it'll get them to a Superbowl. Final point......it was also a GREAT move for the franchise because lots of people are going to be watching just to see what all the hype is about!

  5. Support a terriost for a superbowl? LMAO ... only in Philly!!! The South is too racist for Vick to get a job there. White people tell us to get over slavery and move on and to forgive and forget, but yet they can't get over, forgive and forget over some damn dogs!!! Whites didn't do any jail time or get fines for slavery ... whites didn't serve any debt to society for their actions but rather have benefited and thrived off it for generations to generations. Vick did do all of that and they still won't forgive em. I say the hell with them ... LET'S GO VICK!!! I'm not a Philly fan nor have I been a Vick fan in the past ... but I'm rallying behind him now. And after watching the 9 Lives Of Marion Barry Documentary yesterday ... I'm pulling even harder for Vick. If Marion can do it ... then why not Vick!!!

And to address the topic ... Vick will do okay with the average receivers he has in Philly ... all he had in ATL was Algie anyway.
